Motorcycle · Storage and winter
Your car policy does not cover the motorcycle you own
Personal auto does not cover a motorcycle you own. Winter does not change that. A cold tire, a bridge that ices first, and a car that does not see you are riding hazards. The insurance question is separate: liability if you still ride, and comprehensive if the bike sits and someone steals it or vandalizes it. Dropping comprehensive because the bike is in the garage leaves theft unpaid. Liability-only is not “stored.”
If you ride in a cold snap, the liability limit is what pays other people. The car policy in the driveway does not become the bike’s policy for that trip. A credit-based insurance score can change the price of the motorcycle policy. It does not add comprehensive you removed.
The product: motorcycle insurance. What people pay, without a fake average from this page: motorcycle insurance in Texas.
