Bundle Home and Auto Insurance in Tennessee

Tennessee · Home and auto together

A bundle is a credit. The house and the cars stay separate policies.

Bundling means the same company writes the homeowners policy and the auto policy, and applies a multi-policy credit if its filing includes one. A fire still pays from the house policy. A crash still pays from the auto policy. The credit can sit on one bill or both, and it comes off if either policy cancels.

Compare the total. Add both premiums. A bundle that is cheaper because collision was dropped, or because the roof is on actual cash value, is a smaller policy, not a discount.

Hold the coverages still

“Full coverage” on the cars only means liability plus collision plus comprehensive. It is not created by putting the house at the same company. Hail on the car is comprehensive. Hail on the roof is the homeowners wind and hail deductible. Confirm Tennessee’s current liability floor on the state site or the declarations page rather than from a blog. Liability versus full coverage.

If the household splits, the credit does not follow both people. Divorce and the policies. An umbrella, if you add one, still pays only after the underlying auto and home liability limits are used up.

Price the pair together and each policy alone, on the same limits. Ask an agent, or start a home quote and an auto quote.
