Home Insurance in Lewisville
Our Lewisville home insurance page uses a typical home value of about $378,500 and a typical annual premium of about $2,118, and it illustrates a rate of about $1,271 a year through our agency. These are illustrations, not quotes; your price depends on the home, the roof, your claims history, and the coverage you choose. Homes near Lewisville Lake may also need a closer look at flood coverage.
When we quote a Lewisville home, we check the dwelling coverage against today’s rebuilding costs, the wind and hail deductible, whether the roof is covered at replacement cost or actual cash value, and your personal liability limit. North Texas hail seasons make the roof terms and deductible choices matter as much as the premium. See our Lewisville home insurance rates page for more detail.
Auto Insurance in Lewisville
Our Lewisville car insurance page illustrates an average of about $154.00 a month. Interstate 35E runs through the middle of the city, and commuter traffic toward Dallas and Denton makes solid liability limits and uninsured motorist coverage worth pricing.
Texas requires at least 30/60/25 liability coverage: $30,000 for each injured person, $60,000 for all injuries in one accident, and $25,000 for property damage. Those minimums are low compared with the cost of a serious accident on busy North Texas highways, so we usually show higher limits side by side with the minimum so you can compare the price difference. Our Lewisville car insurance page explains the common coverages, and our auto insurance rate calculator gives you a rough estimate in a couple of minutes.
Flood, Business, and Other Coverage
Standard homeowners policies do not cover flood damage, and heavy spring storms can flood streets and yards well outside mapped flood zones. Most new flood policies also have a waiting period before coverage begins, so it is worth arranging before storm season. Read our Lewisville flood insurance guide. We also quote renters, condo, landlord, umbrella, boat, RV, and business insurance for Lewisville-area clients.
A Short History of Lewisville
Lewisville’s history goes back to the 1840s, when the Republic of Texas gave the Texas Emigration and Land Company a grant to settle 600 families in what is now Denton County. The families arrived by 1846, the year Denton County was founded.
Lewisville became an official city after an incorporation election in 1925, when it had about 850 residents. The population reached about 1,500 by 1950. In 1960 the Lewisville Lake dam was built, and U.S. 77, now Interstate 35E, was moved west to become the main route between Dallas and Denton. The city grew quickly through the 1970s and 1980s, reached about 46,500 residents by the 1990s, and today has roughly 100,000 residents.
Lewisville Insurance FAQs
Do I need to visit the Lewisville office?
No. Most clients handle everything by phone or email. If you would like to meet in person, call ahead for an appointment so an agent is available.
How many insurance companies do you compare?
We work with more than 25 carriers, so we can compare several options for the same coverage instead of offering a single company’s price.
Can I bundle home and auto insurance?
Yes. Many carriers discount both policies when you place home and auto together. We quote both ways so you can see whether the bundle actually saves you money.
Does homeowners insurance cover flooding?
No. Flood damage needs a separate flood policy, and most new flood policies have a waiting period before coverage begins.
What do I need for a quote?
For home insurance, have your address, the year the roof was replaced, and your current policy if you have one. For auto, have each driver’s date of birth and license number, and each vehicle’s year, make, and model or VIN.
