The pet does not move your insurance. The address does.
A homeowners or renters policy is written for a specific address. If you move and do not tell the company, a claim at the new place can be questioned because the territory, the construction, and who lives there were never underwritten. The dog or the cat is a second question: liability if they hurt someone, and almost no coverage if they themselves are hurt.

What the policy pays, and what it does not
If your dog bites a guest, that can be personal liability, unless the form excludes animal liability or that dog’s history. Companies ask about bites. Leaving a bite off an application is a reason a later claim is denied. There is no universal breed list on this page. The exclusion, if there is one, is on your form.
Vet bills for your own pet are usually not covered. Some forms treat an animal as personal property with a low sublimit, and even then only for a covered peril such as a fire, not an illness. Do not expect the homeowners deductible to function as pet health insurance. It is not.
Furniture in the truck is a different gap. Homeowners can cover belongings off the premises, often only up to about 10 percent of the contents limit, and only for named perils. Renting versus owning at the new place
A lease can ban a pet or require liability limits your current renters policy does not meet. Renters insurance covers your belongings and your liability. It does not cover the building.
