The warning tells you which policy is about to be tested
A weather app is not coverage. The National Weather Service warning is the official product, and the type of warning tells you which deductible you are about to use. A severe thunderstorm or hail warning points at the homeowners wind and hail deductible, and at comprehensive on the cars. A flash-flood warning points at a flood policy. Homeowners insurance does not pay that water.
