Compare the same stack, then bind the new policy before you cancel the old one

A Texas auto quote is a stack: liability, and if you want the car repaired, collision and comprehensive. “Full coverage” means those three. It does not include rental, gap, or roadside unless those endorsements are listed. Two quotes with different liability limits, or one missing collision, are not the same price for the same policy.

The legal floor is 30/60/25. That is $30,000 bodily injury per person, $60,000 per accident, and $25,000 property damage. It pays other people. It does not fix your car. Uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage pays you when the other driver has little or no insurance. Personal injury protection pays medical bills and some lost wages under its own limit, without first proving the other driver was at fault. Carriers offer both. A rejection belongs in writing on the form. Do not assume a quote left them on just because the website said “full coverage.”

A credit-based insurance score can change the price. It is not a FICO score, and it does not add a coverage. A lapse changes the next application. TexasSure is the state’s check that a registered vehicle has insurance. Canceling the old policy before the new one is bound is how a car sits in that gap.
